How does job coaching help you?
I’m guessing you’ve landed on this page because you’re interested in coaching and how it might help you in your own business or in the workplace.
It’s totally understandable to be apprehensive about the process and to have a stack of questions. The purpose of this page is to break it down and direct you to some other super helpful resources I’ve written across this website. Some you might find useful, others not so much – and that’s the first thing you’ll learn: coaching is individual to you. If I coached everyone in the exact same way, I’d have a lot of unhappy clients.
What exactly is coaching?
Coaching is here to help you if you’re feeling overwhelmed with work, or just not sure why things aren’t ‘clicking’ like they used to. We’ll find some goals and then work towards achieving them. It’s okay not to know or understand your coaching goals are yet, as we work on that too.
You might be surprised to learn that my main hobby is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and honestly, the biggest lessons I've learned on the mats are the ones I use most with my clients.
There's a core principle that changes everything: leverage beats brute force.
You quickly learn that muscling through a problem is exhausting and inefficient. The real breakthroughs come from finding a clever angle - a specific point of pressure that creates huge results with minimal effort.
My coaching is exactly the same. We won't just 'work harder'; we'll identify the key leverage points in your life/career - the small, strategic shifts that’ll unlock your biggest goals.
I know it all sounds very patient and strategic... and it is. Finding the perfect point of leverage for my clients? *That’s* my sweet spot.
The outcome of coaching?
Feeling energised, productive, more focused, and ready for anything. Life will never be perfect, but you will know exactly what to do when things aren’t so perfect.
Why me?
I have over 500 hours of coaching experience, am certified with the ICF with additional certifications in ADHD coaching and neuroscience, plus a trusted coaching provider to the NHS and Government (I’m pretty proud of that!); safe to say, you’re in the best possible hands.
PS - If you’re already thinking “I want to work with you!” then book a call here for a chat and we can explore the options.
What is Access to Work (and how does it apply to coaching)?
Access to Work is a government-funded scheme that provides additional support (like work coaching) to neurodivergent individuals and those with disabilities or health conditions, including ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety and depression. It’s designed to help you start or stay in work (Whether that’s working for yourself or someone else). It can take a while for your application to be processed, so if you’ve not done so already, take a look at how to apply in my Access to Work article.
Do you have any quick hacks for me right now, as I’m really struggling with focus?
Absolutely! I have lots of articles on my blog that cover a range of ways to improve your executive function (things like focus and productivity). Here are some of my favourites. Remember – not every tool works for everyone, so try a few out and see how you get on.
How does the coaching process work?
I’ve broken down the step-by-step coaching process in the article below, which also looks at the individual areas we might cover in your coaching sessions. It might help to spark some ideas of what you’d like to cover in your sessions. Scroll to the bottom for a super helpful FAQ section.
Are therapy and coaching similar?
As this is a question I get asked a lot, I wrote a whole article on it. Therapy and coaching can appear very similar, but they’re very different. If you’re more of a visual person, scroll down to the table in the article for an overview of the differences.
Can you tell me a bit more about you, and who you work with?
Yep! I have a page here that tells you more about me, including how I got into coaching, and what my obsessions in life are (other than coaching!).
What you really need to know is that when you’re in my world, I will do everything in my power to help you. If I can move heaven and earth, I will. Connection, empathy and kindness are my biggest values.
It's simple: whoever you are, you are welcome here. I’m a dedicated LGBTQIA+ ally, and creating a genuinely safe space is my first priority.
The people I work with come from all walks of life, but they often feel like they don't quite fit the neurotypical mould. My approach is to take that mould, say a loving goodbye to it, and start from scratch. Together, we’ll build a personalised toolkit that celebrates your mind and works with your energy, all to help you thrive and feel good.
